Bluehost Vs GoDaddy hosting one of the greatest player of all time. That provides a strong and reliable hosting. Today we are going to discuss which hosting you should go for or more importantly which one is better for your need.
We are going to compare in 7 categories side by side, And see which one performs better and is a go for option. So Stick till the end of this post to get a clear comparison among this two giant hosting providers.
A) Pricing option for GoDaddy and Bluehost
We are going to see Who has the better pricing? And What are the features included in that price range? Is it worth it?
In the list given below you will find that Bluehost is more cheaper than GoDaddy. And that’s the truth. If you want value for money service then Bluehost can be the go through option.
Let me clear you that both the hosting provider comes with 30 days money back guarantee. And that’s a good thing if you just want to give it a try.
You should not provide 1 or 2$ more per month just for a bit more traffic. That’s only the marketing technique for web hosting companies. They always keeps a sale and recommends you for unnecessary products.
In GoDaddy you will be forced more to buy there extra products. A real example- GoDaddy provides free emails, But it keeps you forcing to buy there paid email.
And the paid email dialogue box appears at the front and the free one you have to search manually.
Bluehost Vs GoDaddy- Pricing Verdict: Bluehost provides a better value for money hosting and it's customer support and unbeatable renewable price is excellent. And it's a way more strong hosting than GoDaddy.
B) Bluehost and GoDaddy Speed and Uptime Test
We have tested the speed of 2 websites through GT Metrix. One was hosted on Bluehost and and the other was on GoDaddy. And the result was as expected by our team. Yes, Bluehost wins. Let’s have a deep look into Bluehost vs GoDaddy Hosting. See both the results Below.
i) Bluehost Speed Test
Bluehost with the default theme loaded in 1.5 seconds that is considered an excellent page loading time. Let me clear you that this is done without using any image optimization plugins in the website.
ii) GoDaddy Speed Test
GoDaddy with the Default theme loads in 2.1 seconds that is less compared to Bluehost. This means that Bluehost is 29% faster than GoDaddy. ( We have not used any image optimization plugins or Cloud flare while performing the test. Result may vary after doing this.)
iii) Server Locations
Server location also plays an important role in website speed. The more closer your server is the more faster your website loads.
Bluehost has only one server location that is in UNITED STATES. GoDaddy has 3 server locations which is in North America, Europe and Asia.
So if your business is located and/or side of United States or your visitors are from outside U.S.A then GoDaddy will provide a better page loading speed for your customer.
But the page loading speed varies only for 2 or 3 milliseconds and that is negligible in most of the cases.
iv) Bluehost Uptime
Bluehost had an uptime of 100% that is considered and awesome result. This means no downtime was recorded in your site. If you site gets down then search engines gives them less preference. In terms of ranking and all other activates.
v) GoDaddy Uptime
GoDaddy had a down time recorded while performing the test. And the uptime came about 99.977% . Which still pass the minimum uptime requirement that is 99.95%.
vi) Short Overview
Bluehost Vs GoDaddy Speed and Uptime: Verdicts
In this case my recommendation is GoDaddy as it has more server locations which allows you to choose your server more nearer to your business. And that improve your site speed.

C) Setup And Ease of Use
Now the setup process and ease of use after purchasing the hosting. We have tested each and everything about the ease to use it and it’s user interface. Let’s dive in! into the deep comparison of Bluehost vs GoDaddy Hosting.
Both GoDaddy and Bluehost provides CPanel for operating there hosting. You can see the picture below.
Bluehost comes with a clean user interface and can be a blessing if you are a beginner. It provides you all the features in a very clean manner.
Bluehost’s CPanel is way more easy to navigate as compared to GoDaddy. GoDaddy has no custom interface like Bluehost. And they do a lot of Upsell in there dashboard which sometimes become very irritating. You can see the picture of upselling of there product below.
Both of them Provides One Click WordPress installation which is no doubt a very good thing. You don’t have to hustle for installing it, There are a beginners who sometimes purchase a wrong hosting which does not provides them One Click installation. So it must be appreciated for the effort of these two hosting providers.
However this category makes very easy to pick the winner for all the features. I would go with the Bluehost. Because there custom interface is way better than GoDaddy’s interface. And it is also easier to manage your WordPress website on Bluehost,
D) Features: Pros and Cons of Bluehost and GoDaddy
i) Features
In this Bluehost wins, Because it have all the features that GoDaddy has and much more. The biggest and most critical feature for your website which only Bluehost provides is Daily backup.
This feature is missing with GoDaddy and not with Bluehost. There are some more reasons like this that made me to write and article on Bluehost vs GoDaddy Hosting.
Automatic Daily Backup is common nowadays and I believe that every hosting provider should offer this. This help to recover your website if in case it gets hacked. But if your website has no daily backup you will loose all your efforts.
It’s really disappointing that GoDaddy has not included this feature in there hosting plans.
Bluehost provides Free SSL certificate on all there plans for one year, But In GoDaddy you will find free SSL certificate only in the highest plans. And for the basic plans you will have to buy them separately that’s very disappointing.
This one of the common feature that I think every hosting provide should provide for free, If someone is buying there hosting. In this comparison Bluehost is the Clear winner.
E) Customer Support
Customer is one of the factor that makes every hosting different from each other and it is a very essential part that you should test if you know before going to purchase any hosting.
We tested and noticed that Bluehost response time is 30 seconds on an average and on the other hand GoDaddy took 9 minutes on an average.
i) Virus and Malware report
I asked Bluehost customer support that ” I have virus in my website, can you please provide malware report of my website” they took almost 5 minutes and send me the report.
While one the other hand When I ask same thing to GoDaddy customer support, they apologies and said “You have to purchase our virus protection plan for using this service”.
I am really very disappointed with GoDaddy, They were upselling in the customer support section too.
F) Best WordPress Integration
If you see in world, 80% of the internet websites are running on WordPress.org and when it comes to the best hosting for WordPress. I would recommend you Bluehost over GoDaddy.
Because WordPress.org itself officially recommends Bluehost. And it is the number one recommendation of WordPress.
Now the Question Arises, Why Bluehost is the number one recommendation for WordPress? Because Bluehost integrates much better with WordPress than any other hosting providers.
G) My recommendation
My honest recommendation will be Bluehost as we saw that in most of the cases Bluehost wins. I can recommend Bluehost over GoDaddy in any situation.
- Bluehost excels in customer support
- Provides Daily Backup and SSL certificate with even there cheapest plans.
- Can be suitable for beginners.
- Has a great User interface.
You can choose your Bluehost Domain here
H) FAQS on Bluehost Vs GoDaddy
Yes, the pricing of Bluehost is cheaper than GoDaddy, But the prices increase after your initial period overs. Bluehost is way more better than GoDaddy in terms of Pricing.
If you are a beginner and you have less budget, Then I would say nothing is more better than Bluehost. Yes, you can get hosting at more cheaper price than Bluehost, But the money Bluehost take for there hosting, they mean it too.
Yes, you can use it but you have to point the domain with the hosting you want to use.
I would say Bluehost is the best hosting provider in the market. But if you have a high Budget then my first recommendation is SiteGround.
I would say in this pricing plan no hosting can be more perfect for a small business. There customer support and everything is outstanding.
Bluehost can be a blessing for all the bloggers who do blogging in part time or full time. As a blogger you may need so much customer support, in that case it is going to your right decision.
